Operations Manager - Whitestown

Get Fresh Produce has been in business since 1982, providing fresh produce and other products to restaurants and other end users in the Chicago area. We are currently accepting applications for a Warehouse Operations Manager to work at our Whitestown, IN facility. As our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day oversight:

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all receiving and distribution operations
  • Hands-on Management of all warehouse activities
  • Plans and monitors optimal space utilization and efficient inventory flow
  • Promote Safety throughout the operation
  • Oversee the processes involved in product handling, storage solutions, the shipment of goods, schedule of operations, and delivery of product
  • Works closely with Dispatch operations personnel
  • Coordinates with load planners to ensure customer and driver’s needs are met
  • Participate in the hiring of Drivers and Warehouse personnel: interviews, paperwork
  • Accident and incident investigation/review and reporting; root-cause analysis
  • Scheduling and day-to-day duties related to time off, weekly hours verification, and performance
  • Manage team of warehouse workers and be involved with planning, organizing, and directing the flow of product through the warehouse
  • Build routes, dispatch drivers, check in/out equipment, communicate with our network of companies to ensure proper and timely delivery of product
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Produce Pro ERP software a plus
  • Transportation or Warehousing experience in the Food industry
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, set goals, attention to detail/accuracy
  • Self-managed, motivated, resilient, ability to work through difficult situations
  • Proven leadership skills with focus on turnover reduction, team motivation
  • Able to operate electric reach truck/pallet jack
  • Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English, bilingual a plus

Work Schedule:

  • Sunday – Friday with Saturday and a day off during the week
  • Start time of 5:00 am (until work is completed)
  • Must be flexible to adapt to business needs
  • 40+ hours per week
  • Some mandatory Holiday work included
  • This is an in-person position

 Compensation:

  • Salary $80,000 - $90,000 (based on experience)

 Physical Demands:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Work in cold and wet  cooler conditions for extended periods of time
