
Warehouse Manager
Get Fresh Produce started in 1982 as a retail produce store in Chicago, specializing in premium fresh fruit, vegetables, specialty foods, and dairy. Essential Functions:
Manage the day-to-day warehouse functions of the operations.
Recruit, develop, manage, and train employees to ensure all SOPs are being followed and all GWP’s.
Monitor and adjust warehouse operations, with continuous improvements based on scheduling needs and seasonality.
Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
Ensure the company’s operational procedures, policies, and standards are followed.
Oversee maintenance of MHE Equipment at 1441 and 1397 Buildings.
Oversee closely all inventory functions and have full understanding of the warehouse selection process and inventory cycle counts, using WMS.
Ensure the warehouse sanitation team follows all cleaning procedures and maintains a clean and orderly facility.
Collaborate with other Distribution Centers to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to operations.
Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
Maintain close and consistent communication with day operations teams, including buyers, sales staff, and customer service, to ensure alignment on inventory needs, order fulfillment, and operational priorities.
Ensures contingency systems/practices/protocols are in place to eliminate business disruption.
Understands what drives an effective safety culture and actively participates in the Company’s mission to make decisions that positively impact the safety of our team.
Demonstrate expertise in proper palletizing techniques, including stacking, weight distribution, and securing product to ensure safe, efficient, and damage-free transport and storage.
Review loading assignments with Operations teams, to ensure routes are streamlines and balanced based on delivery expectations.
Support the Dispatch team on daily tasks as needed, including shipping routes, answering phones, building clipboards, keys, tablets, RMA’s, trouble shooting.
Familiar with the operation of unloading equipment (i.e. lift-gates, ramps, 2-wheel handcarts)
Oversee inventory control, warehouse flow to optimize resources and minimize waste and or damage, mis picks, errors and ensure correct receiving practices are being followed.
Oversee day-to-day operations, to ensure smooth and efficient workflow, including managing fleet, material handling equipment - MHE, employees and building appearance.
Competencies, Education, and Skills:
High school diploma or GED
8+ years of experience in a warehouse environment with at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
Transportation or Warehousing experience in Produce Distribution industry a plus
Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems- Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems.
Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus

Physical Demands:
Occasionally lift up to 50lbs
Stand or sit for long periods of time
Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for extended periods of time
Ability to operate any MHE when needed to load trucks, offload trucks, replenish locations, and perform put aways
Compensation:
$80,000 - $85,000/Year
Work Schedule:
Monday – Sunday (Off on Saturday and one day during the week).
6:00pm – 7:00pm start time until finish
